Course Overview

The Regional Skills Training (RST) Emerging Technologies Program offers training under the following qualification:

  • AHC40122 Certificate IV in Agriculture

This course is designed for farm leaders and supervisors wanting to explore different types of Agriculture Technology (AgTech). The Emerging Technologies course will enable you to gain confidence in applying new technology to your farming practices.

Topics

Students will cover the core topic of Work health and safety as well as a selection of industry relevant topics including:

  • Work health and safety
  • Cropping
  • Integrated pest management strategies
  • Soil management
  • Livestock nutrition and health
  • Machinery management
  • Biosecurity

This program focuses on a collection of chemical, biological and physical tools and technologies. You will develop skills and broaden your knowledge of AgTech to take back to your workplace.

Studying with RST

This course is delivered through a series of workshops at RST’s training room located at Glenelg in Adelaide, online tutorials as well as field trips to farms, animal processing facilities and university research sites located around South Australia.

RST understands the busy times around seeding and harvest and we structure our training around these busy times.

You can enrol and commence your training at any time.

By attending all scheduled workshops and completing all assessments a course should take between 18 months and three years to complete depending on your needs and work commitments.
